Travel across Istanbul

from 200$

Mysterious and majestic, noisy and fabulously beautiful, Istanbul is a bridge between Europe and Asia, between the traditional East and the modern West. Throughout its rich history, it managed to change several names and be the capital of four empires: the Roman and Byzantine, Ottoman and Latin.

Information about Istanbul

The former capital of Turkey, its main cultural, commercial and industrial center is divided into two halves even geographically. It is located on the two shores of the Bosphorus, and therefore on two continents. The European part of Istanbul is conditionally divided by the Golden Horn Bay: the Old Town with its famous sights has largely retained its medieval appearance, while business and commercial life are concentrated in the New one.

Istanbul is very diverse: the solemn squares are adjacent to the cozy courtyards that seem unremarkable at first glance, the intricate narrow streets with bright avenues, the ancient mosques with modern mansions. The crowded, boiling metropolis remains a place for contemplation, for a leisurely dive into a wonderful world where times and cultures mingle.

Istanbul hotels

Istanbul guests have no problems with accommodation in the city: hotels of different levels are located here at every step. Oddly enough, room rates do not depend on the location of the hotel. Those who travel to Istanbul for business can settle in ordinary residential areas. Sightseeing travelers often choose the areas of Sultanahmet and Beyoglu. In the first numerous monuments of architecture are concentrated, in the second – colorful shops with oriental goods and restaurants of national cuisine. Most of the hotels in the vicinity of the Blue Mosque are located in restored old buildings. Many inexpensive hostels and cafes are in Taksimo and Akbiyik Caddesi Street. For those who enjoy nightlife, it is best to stay in the Istiklal area, and true luxury lovers – west along the Bosphorus.
