from $300

In the United Arab Emirates, there is no bad weather and low season – here are both in November and in July, luxury hotels for quality vacations and excellent shopping at attractive prices. All about Emirates – Dubai and Sharjah, beach holidays, tours and attractions.

Information about the UAE

Apparently, approach to tourism in the UAE can be described as: “surprise everyone that is in the country and what is not – we will build and surprise even more.” As practice shows, this action plan of the Emirates has a very beneficial effect on the tourist stream: moody young ladies who are accustomed to the white sand and pure blue waters, come to admire the local beaches, lovers of extreme exploring underwater and sandy spaces, frozen nature traverses longitudinal and gourmets and other hedonistic contingents enjoy delicious national cuisine and aristocratic service. UAE’s credo is “everything for the guest!” In the Emirates, everything goes well with everything: the sea breeze plays with expensive curtains on the windows of the seven-star hotel, the Burj Khalifa needle is visible from the nomads’ dunes, and the road for the camel races is neatly tucked between the high-rises of business.

So the UAE is a “mast-visit” destination for all those who are indifferent to the Arab exotic and appreciating comfort. As for the cost of leisure, it is a country for tourists with income above average and high. However, it is quite possible to find near-budget placements in the most popular emirates.

United Arab Emirates Hotels

Dubai city hotels offer very mediocre quality of 1-2 stars, quite good variants in three and four star hotels and very good quality of five stars. Dubai Coast (Elite Jumeirah District) – highly expensive luxury hotels. In Sharjah and Ajman, the hotel base is weak, the pleasant exceptions are Ajman Kempinski and Coral Beach, and virtually all other hotels can be bribed one by one.

In Abu Dhabi, the hotels are on the shore, but since there is not enough land on the island, the areas near the beaches are very small. Most of the hotels are good but old. In the northern emirates of Ras Al Khaimah and Fujairah, the quality of hotels in Sharjah (except Le Meridien al Aqqa) is poor.

In the UAE, same-sex relationships and sex outside the marriage are forbidden. Living in the same room of a non-married persons of different sex is a violation of the law.

Overnight at a five-star hotel in Dubai will cost from $ 200 per day per room for two, in a four-star hotel – from $ 50-150, and prices for good 3* start at about $ 40-50 per day.

UAE cuisine and restaurants

Not only Arabic but also any other cuisine is widely represented in UAE cafes and restaurants. Here in the best sense of the word gastronomic international, however, and the national culinary traditions in the country are respected.

In Arab cuisine, meat is actively used. Here it is prepared mainly on an open fire, without fat, but with a lot of spices. Any meat must be served with hummus and hot crispy tortillas. For vegetarians the choice is not so wide: for example, grape leaves with rice, porridge with butter and nuts, which are added to almost all dishes – from soups to desserts.

When talking about the UAE cuisine, one should take into account the religious features of the country. In particular, it is very difficult to find pork dishes (only in specialized places), and in Ramadan all food establishments open only after sunset and close at dawn.

Restaurants are strictly divided into establishments offering alcohol and those that do not. The first, as a rule, work at hotels – for a simple restaurant “on the street” to get an alcohol license is almost impossible.

The most luxurious restaurants are located at the hotels, most of them are awarded Michelin stars. As a rule, mandatory dress codes are in place (outrageous ladies’ dresses are not allowed in respect of Islam), and prices start from AED 1,000 for a two-course dinner without drinks. More democratic prices are in street establishments. Usually this is a Middle Eastern kitchen cafe – it’s not such chic interiors, but it is tasty and relatively inexpensive to dine – from AED 150 per person per lunch. The cheapest to eat fast food – in the UAE is a variety of shawarma. There are many immigrants from the Middle East, everyone has their own recipe, so diversity can be counted on.
